Rose Mango Yogurt Smoothie
Why this recipe works
- Ready in minutes: Everything is blended cold, so there is no cooking or lengthy preparation.
- Thick and silky: Yoghurt, whole milk and ripe mango blend into a smooth, creamy drink with enough body to feel substantial.
- Naturally sweet: Ripe mango provides most of the sweetness, while honey can be adjusted if the fruit is less fragrant or slightly sharp.
- Delicate floral finish: Rose water adds aroma without heaviness, especially when used sparingly and served well chilled.

Ingredient notes
- Use a ripe mango: A fully ripe mango gives the smoothie better sweetness, colour and body; underripe fruit will taste flatter and may need more honey.
- Go carefully with rose water: Rose water varies in strength. Keep the flavour subtle, as too much can quickly taste perfumed or soapy.
- Whole milk keeps it creamy: Whole milk gives the smoothest texture, while lactose-free milk can be used if you want a similar result with less lactose.
Texture tips
- For a creamier drink: Chill the yoghurt and milk well before blending so the smoothie stays thick without relying only on ice.
- Blend until fully silky: Scrape down the sides of the blender if needed so the mango breaks down evenly and the drink has no fibrous pieces.
Make-ahead tips
- Best served fresh: The smoothie is at its lightest and coldest straight after blending, when the ice has just aerated the mixture.
- If making ahead: Refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 1 day, then re-blend with a little ice before serving to restore the chilled, smooth texture.

Ingredients
Instructions
- Peel the mango, cut the flesh away from the stone, and add it to the blender. Add the yogurt, whole milk, rose water and honey.
- Blend until thick and silky smooth, scraping down the sides if needed. Add the ice cubes and blend again until the smoothie is very cold and lightly aerated.
- Taste and adjust: if you want a stronger floral note, blend in an extra drop or two of rose water next time. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.
Recipe notes
Tips
- Rose water varies in strength, so start with the stated amount and keep it subtle; too much can taste soapy.
- If the mango is not very ripe, the honey makes a noticeable difference, so do not skip it.
- For a thicker smoothie, chill the whole milk and yogurt well before blending.
Substitutions
- Replace Whole milk with lactose-free milk for the same creamy texture with less lactose.
- Replace Honey with Agave syrup for a lighter sweetness that lets the rose note come through.
Storage
- Refrigerate up to 1 days
- Best served straight away. If you need to make it ahead, refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 1 day and re-blend with a couple of Ice cubes before serving.
